STEP 7 - GIVING YOUR SKIN A MUCH NEEDED BOOST

broken image

Skin is the largest organ of the human body and therefore is the most exposed to the elements and toxins. Pampering your skin and giving it the hydration it needs should be at the top of your Everyday Beauty list! These recipes will have your skin looking and feeling tip top!

QUEEN OF THE HOUSE BODY BUTTER RECIPE

• 1/2 c. Mango Butter

• 1/4 c. Shea Butter

• 1/4 c. Kokum Butter

• 1/4 c. Cocoa Butter

• 1/4 c. Coconut Oil (solid form)

• 1/4 c. Sweet Almond Oil or Grapeseed Oil

• 1 tbsp. Arrowroot Powder

• 10 drops Tangerine Essential Oil

• 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• 10 drops Patchouli Essential Oil

Warm butter ingredients over low heat until melted, stirring well to combine. Remove from heat and whisk in the Arrowroot Powder and Essential Oils. Cool in your refrigerator for about 15 minutes, then use a mixer to whip the butter until it stands on its own from the beaters. You may have to cool and repeat mixing with a mixer until the mixture will stand up.

The above recipe makes a large batch and a little really does go a long way. Divide down ingredient amounts to make a smaller batch.

SOFT AND SIMPLE BODY BUTTER RECIPE

• 1 c. Coconut Oil (solid form)

• 1 tsp. Vitamin E Oil

• 3 drops Wild Orange Essential Oil

• 3 drops Roman Chamomile Essential Oil

There are two ways to combine the above ingredients. You can warm the coconut oil, combine with Vitamin E Oil and Essential Oils, then let cool. OR you can skip the warming and use a mixer to whip the butter into a softer whipped butter. The recipe will not whip well after being warmed.

Make sure to store your butter in a glass jar, if your home tends to be on the warmer side, you may want to store your butter in a cooler place or in your refrigerator.
